So when it comes to that time of the month... Yes, to menfolk that are reading this post... This post is about periods... Go ahead... I'll give you a couple of seconds to Log off. Or Turn off the system. Or Close the window. Cringe and Turn away in disgust. We understand... ~sigh~
See, a lot of women are just as disgusted when it comes to period. We usually have an inkling on when it's going to happen. We dread going to the restroom and making sure the period is here or not. We get signs such as cramps, back aches, lack of taste, severe mood swings, surprisingly increased strength. And to make things weirder, Always added this line to their maxi pads: Have a Happy Period.. And the wordings are written in a dreamy font that it takes you to a peaceful place... like a beach perhaps, or a shoe store. NOT!

Picture this... You're in a cramped restroom. Maybe the one at work, or at a movie theatre.. wherever. And you're trying to make the most of your space to remove the pad and attach it on. While unwrapping it... you hear the tear noise and what do you see? A thin film of paper wishing you a Happy Period!... ~longer sigh~
Do they even know what they're wishing to? When they say a Have a Happy Period, they are saying Have a Happy yelling at the world, hating the opposite sex, feeling pain down there, running to restroom due to increased water! Thanks for the regards Always! Gosh... is the maxi pad industry being ruled by men too? See, I'm not angry at Always's Marketing for trying. But I leave it to this: Is there ever such a thing as a HAPPY period?
See, this would FO SHO make me more happier. Instead of i-TV, apple should totally endorse the i-pad! Listen to your faves while on your period... tra lala... Don't you LOVE MadTV?
Hey YOU! This blog has posts written by many people...

WTF is this?
**Please view the following trailer before reading this post**
Lo and behold… Here comes an exciting movie where a small town girl hits it big when a fashion guru thinks she has that exotic look. Girl innocently agrees to wear skimpy clothes and model around. Girl then falls in love with a guy who does not wish to take her for granted. Wow! Originality at its best… NOT!
Shubhra pointed me to the following trailer last night. All I have to say is: WTF is this about? Americanizing Shelley? What’s next? Indianizing Jennifer into Janaki? (Shubhra’s words.. not mine). Or Indian Born Ignorant Desi comes to a foreign country looking for opportunity, gets dissaPOOPointed? WTF?
Now, we have just HAD it with stereotypes। Upon watching the trailer, you will notice a few things। First the accent। FAKE! And not to mention annoying। Then come the stereotypes of the parents. Super traditional mummyjee and pappajee worrying about the aging of their daughter's youth. Moving on, there’s stereotypes about Indians living in America (ahem... what BCD again?). This is all just from the trailer people. Pukable!
All in all, if a movie is made (comedy, drama, thriller, whatever) in a direction where progress in society is a possibility, then we can welcome it with open arms. Fortunately, such movies have been made mind you. But we see movies such as this, that embrace typical stereotypes, and that makes us wonder, how far are we from a world where every race is defined entirely based on a particular trait:
Girls dress only traditionally in India and they need to be married before a certain age.
All homes in India have goats. We milk them and we play with them.
All Indians conform to corporate world by joining Information Technology..., or else they are doctors.
By looking at the trailer we obviously can't make out if shelley will turn back to Shalini. We are hoping (crossing our fingers and toes) that Shelley/Shalini will actually have the brains to realize that hollywoodizing yourself might not make the world into perfection. So there you have it, another attempt of throwing shit on the ceiling and seeing what sticks.
What the trailer did to our moods:

TMNT
The 1 hour and 30 minutes were so nostalgic... It took me back to about oh some 15 years ago when my bro, myself and our friends used to pretend to be the TMNT characters and play around. My bro ALWAYS wanted to be Leonardo (the leader), and I always ended up being April of course! Unless my competitive friend Smitha used to visit us. SHE always wanted to be April too. Ugh, the horror! How can she be April when I play a better April that she ever can. (vengeful flashbacks flashing into mind.!) Aaaaaanyway (tra la la), the eldest kid in the group used was assigned to play the role of Splinter. NO ONE wanted to be the malicious, conniving villian Shredder. So one kid always had to sacrifice being Shredder and the rest of us used to run around that person like banshees pretending to be Ninjas. hiiiiya!
One important aspect of loving TMNT was to also love the merchandise. My bro and I had TMNT pens, pencils, erasers, video games, lunch boxes, stickers (there were stickers, where if you scratch on them, they used to smell like pizza... awesome!), action figures, bed sheets, curtains, watches, clothes, posters, coloring books, costumes, birthday cakes, underwears... Didn't Pizza Hut also have TMNT Pizza toppings or some shit like that? I think we even had TMNT pretend weapons at home. Wow TMNT, What would my life have been like without you? Hmm..., let's see... I would have never enjoyed pizzas as much. I would have never known that even teenage boy turtles can be passive aggressive (Raphael!). I would have never known the existence of Japan. No... seriously. I would have never ever dedicated one hour out of my day to watch the cartoons and bask in the glory of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. And hence, watching the movie yesterday, not only lifted me in spirits, but it taught me to love ma brother man, and to also appreciate the past... (going back to daydreaming now).

I pledge allegiance to the flag...
I am now a citizen of the United States of America.
I will vote for the country.
I will not do any illegal activities while I am residing in the country.
I will not smuggle goods from foreign countries.
I will bear arms and defend the country (check out the AWESOME bazooka).

Yesterday, I went to Oakland for my citizenship interview. The whole process was mundane but I atleast got a day off from work. Yippee!

My friend's experience with the airport...
Nikhila, my uber cool friend and I have known each other since high school. She is finally visiting India after 6 years. Her experience so far has been pretty dismal. So instead of sympathizing, I am, flawlessly, parading her experience through this blog...
"Ok...let me start off with "I HATE THE AIRPORT". So, I went to Paris only to realize that they weren't going to send me to amsterdam due to a stupid visa issue. So, instead they decide it would be more convenient to send me straight to India . What better city than Mumbai, only the busiest, most annoying, curropted airport EVER. I get their absolutely tired and they then want me to check my bags out. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhh.
I check my bags, dont know where the hell to go, get lost and walk around outside the airport like an idiot for about an hour. Then, I see people, thousands of them running past me (I felt like an ant being stomped by big brown elephants) becoz this was the day The cricket team of India was leaving for the World Cup. Ofcourse ever indian living wants to get a glimpse of the stars so apparently decide to come to the damn airport and run after any bus that closely resembles a Indian cricket team bus. IT was sooooo crazy.
So, I eventually make my way to Air India where they have the freakin guts to tell me that my luggage was excess. I was going to scream...actually I was so tired, I had tears of anger almost running down my face. I held them back, went to air France , broke the line like a total total bitch ( the last thing on my mind), found a manager and took care of baggage issue. Mind you, I was carrying around about 130 pounds of luggage the whole time I was in the damn airport. Oh well, I check them at last, and go to the security line for domestic travel. Apparently, everyone and their mother was doing the same thing. I get past it after 30 mins and then realize no one in my house knows where the heck I am….Ooops.
All my crazy changes in schedule were not notified to my family back home or my uncle picking me up. Ofcourse, when I’m leaving home I don’t ever think of such circumstances so I had not a freaking Indian rupee in my purse. For the first time ever, I was given money to call home and by a total total stranger after feeling sorry for my situation. I guess it pays to tell everyone your life history….Literally.
Long story short, Haha, that’s a joke….. Actually I did leave out a million other details. So, I’m home. Really enjoying India and it’s unusuals. Seriously, India is plenty of unusuals. I actually am thinking of keeping a blog somewhere online or just via emails so I’ll keep you posted on my crazy adventures. "
